Lesion to Descending SympatheticsIf lesions interrupt the lateral horn or the ventral roots as far caudal as L2, the loss of sympathetic drive to the thorax, abdomen and pelvis is most noticeable in the lack of sweating in the area innervated by the particular nerve (heart rate and visceral control are relatively normal at rest).
